Eduard Sy

You asked for this. :) haha. 

So let me tell you about my dear friend Mr. Eduard Stuart Ochea Sy. He was my friend way back 5th grade in my 1 year stay at Cebu Cherish School. I had my share of fond memories in that school: hide and seek, modern day camping, dancing, chinese garter, my fainting, and the swings! I've also had bad memories from that place, but I keep in mind the goods ones first. I had to transfer to Sacred Heart School for Girls because CCS didn't have any religion or bible related subject which was important to my mother. 

My last memory of my friend Eduard was when he used to phone me home, after I transfered school. Of course, the forgetful man (man daw o!) that he is, he could not remember this. I remember I'd hang out with the boys a lot- Eduard, Martin, and Baudric most of the time. I'd tag along one of them when we played hide and seek and they'd get annoyed at times because of course you'll be spotted easier if you crowd. But I did not want to hide alone. Haha. 


So after 8 years or so, one morning I was early at school and bored. I decided to go to the cafe just beside school and just kill the time surfing the net. I said I was bored right? So I saw "Eduard Sy" on FB posting stuff up, "5 Things ..." thing- that sort of post. So Baudric commented, and I commented back as well about Eduard being a cheater. He placed 3 things or so in one number. After our exchange of comments, he replied; but the replies seemed dry, as though he was conversing online with a complete stranger. I then shot the question "kaila ka nako?" (Do you know me?) Haha. Sure enough, he didn't and barely had any idea. He guessed I was a DJ of a local radio station (where in the world he got that idea is beyond me). Poor guy. I did not say who I was and I made him think. It took him the next day to figure out who I was and the rest was online history. Haha.

Did I mention I was significantly taller than him back in 5th grade? Yup, I soooo was. But about the present day, let's forget about the height, shall we? Haha. 

So to my friend who accompanied me through the excruciating process of having to transfer to a totally different school- THANK YOU! Though my USJR days were short-lived, you made it worth the while. Thank you, thank you! After all these years, you're still a friend! :) My 1 week stay. Haha! 1 week of being a Josenian. Sorry for the hassles sib and you should know I am forever grateful for the accommodation. Haha.

What is it with schools he is in? They all seem to be short-lived moments. Haha. From 1 year at CCS to 1 week at USJR. Tough luck. Haha.

Sick.

I've been sick since Monday or Tuesday night I think. I felt this lump in my throat and when I woke up in the morning it was awfully dry and it did hurt to swallow. I had a cold sore in my mouth also from Saturday I think. I was removing my retainers that Friday night and it got hooked on my lower lip and wounded it somehow, it bled and the next morning I woke up- viola! There it was, the cold sore staring me right back at the mirror. It got bigger by the way, until Wednesday when my throat got all weird. Happy to report the cold sore is gone now.

[okay so while I was typing I was all "sh*t", I normally don't cuss but I panicked! My right foot cramped. And I just hate that! Even though it doesn't last that long, it scares the crap out of me! I mean the nerves get all weird and it feels like it's all tied up and it's just AAHHHH!]

So, for catching up's sake, I'll go by what happened for the past few days since I'm feeling better somehow. I've been trying to use my "sickness" as an excuse to put off blogging but I'm still facing the laptop watching shows and streaming movies. :p 

December 4 - Friday

So I've had this TGIF coupon worth 1000php right? A birthday gift from my good friends. They wanted Elwin and I to have a fancy dinner date. So that Friday we used it. I had dinner with my family and my boyfriend. My parents paid the excess amount of course.

Dinner wasn't as amazing as you'd think and expect it would be. You'd think since they charge triple the price from other fine dining restaurants like Mooon Cafe or Casa Verde- you'd be in for something amazing, but I quote my mom- "It's nothing special". It did however, pretty much reminded us of American food, but that was no shocker. But we all didn't regret trying out the place. We spent over 2500php there, just 5 of us. I don't think I'm going back there.

There was this saying on the frame which had a photo of a dead artist on it and I liked what it said, it might have been from one of his songs- "So long the journey there, so short the stay." It totally reminded me of the "bugsay" (rowing) sessions we had at Agta, Leyte. 2 hours rowing over there and we stayed for about 10 minutes to 15, and another 2 hours to row back. No photos, no proof that it did happen- just our funny memories.

December 6 - Sunday

Mom went Christmas shopping at SM and my sister and I almost went coo coo from hanging around. But eventually we got to do a little shopping of our own. All I got was a jacket and a little purse or pouch thing though, I didn't really feel like digging into the items.

After having Elwin wait for a little over an hour, we got to Ayala and finally met. I was able to give him his SAD book and we had snacks together at Taco's. After that Holly called us up and told me that we should catch up with them at Metro Cafe to eat. And so we ate yet again! :) That was dinner- some fancy spag for Elwin and some fancy-named ribs for me. But of course I wasn't able to finish it up so Elwin had to save me from that. 

December 7 - Monday

We met Kyle's girlfriend- Marga. Elwin and I ran late since Elwin still had classes up to 8:30pm and we were to meet at 7pm. When we got there, they were done eating. 

It was their first month mark as a couple and we finally got to see who she was. She reminded me of Kristyl B. on her appearance, and the way she talks reminded me of Emmie T. Princess agrees with both of the observations I've made and Kyle only agreed on the latter. 

Dinner at Matia's. The usual awesome place. Sad news is they've increased their prices by a peso- but still, it does matter especially for students like us. (Except Princess and Junel- no longer students. *wink*) Kyle says we'd have to find a new cheaper place to dine at soon. But I still love their barbecues.

We also discussed Christmas party plans. After Matia's, Emmie and Stan went home and we went to IT park since I was craving for ice cream. I had me some Oreo McFlurry (which I mistakenly keep calling SwirlyBitz. WTH?!) Dropped them off and Elwin accompanied me home. I was home around 11 on a school night and dad wasn't happy. But hey, my Tuesday class doesn't start 'til 12noon.

December 8 - Tuesday

A day I don't really want to talk about. first time I ever missed class for this semester. My auntie Anne had her baby and it's another boy! :) And half-jokingly I told my mom to ask the baby from her since she already had two boys and a girl- and as always my mom answered "Unsa na?! Baktin?" (What do you think of the baby? A piglet?) Haha. It would be nice to have a brother, or another sibling for that matter. :)

December 9 - Wednesday

I was craving for freshly fried fish for lunch, but that didn't happen. Later I craved for Shakey's- but it just wasn't in our budget. I think my period is coming anytime soon since I'm craving for food. :) 

So it seems as though we wouldn't have our English class, Elwin and I left and went to Country Mall (the mall across the new school) to check out some fans my sister wanted me to buy for her, but I didn't find any good one. I also bought Shawarma for snacks and munched on it at the Food Court. 

After that mom text messaged me to meet them at Ayala. It was drizzling a little bit and so Elwin went with me  since he had a two hour break. we got to Ayala and ended up having dinner at Shakey's. Hooray! Elwin got to eat before he left for school. It's always nice to have my boyfriend join me and my family for a meal. 

December 10 - Thursday

Math quiz I wasn't prepared for, but hopefully I make the 70% passing mark. 

Went with Harrison C., Jokas R., Daren O., and Elwin to have Jerseys done. I ordered one for myself as well. Elwin and I both chose number 16 for obvious reasons. :) The joy-ride back to school in Daren's car was fun too. 

December 11- Friday

I was too lazy to even try and get up to shower. I couldn't imagine driving to school. A good day I chose to be absent since there weren't any classes due to Teacher's day celebration. I missed our research group meeting though, but my group mates understood. I e-mailed them my contribution and I hope it was of use.

Stayed home all day- no shower! Had my massage sessions and now I'm blogging. the bad thing about today- aside from me being lazy, I didn't get to see Elwin. Poo. hopefully tomorrow, love. :) I miss you already.

To whoever is reading: I'm sorry this is a long post. No one forced you to read it, but if you did- thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is much appreciated. Especially if your name is Elwin. :)

Stroll Date

I woke up to Elwin's call. I waited for him to arrive and we'd have lunch here at home together. The weather wasn't looking too good, but I showered right after lunch. It took me quite a while to prepare, Elwin said he had fallen asleep from waiting for me. Sorry. x)


So it was drizzling and we rode the jeepney to SM. We got to SM at around 2pm I guess. We were to make the most out of it, we had until 4pm since I have a 4:30pm Saturday class (IT32: Logic Design).


So we went around. And I went back to check out So Fab! shoe shop. My grandmother gave me birthday money last week to buy two pairs of flats we saw at that store. I went and bought the white Fabiola flats, I didn't buy the blue one with the same design even though my grandmother gave me money for it as well. No more size 8, so I settled with size 7- satisfied!  


I had Elwin taste the ridiculously expensive hotdog sandwich from Monster Franks. I first tasted it with Mara, we shared on hotdog sandwich on Princess' graduation day. I think it was called Beef Frank, had onion, cheese, ketchup, mayo, mustard, pickle, and hot sauce. But I had my order done without pickles and mustard, extra cheese and onions. :) As expected, Elwin love it, but he hated the price though- 99php. We then walked to Taco's and I ordered a whole beef quesadillas and Elwin went at Liquidz to go buy our iced tea. :) It was a fun day just the two of us, enjoying our snacks. We clearly both missed times like that. 


After snack time, we strolled around some more. It was all about me window shopping, apparently Elwin enjoy's seeing me enjoy window shopping. Sweet! I know, right? :D I'm happy. lol. I wanted to buy some accessories, but the ones I had my eyes on were pricey. Expression of the day: "Are you kidding me?!" haha.


It was 4pm and we went on a jeepney ride to Ayala. When we got there, we had to transfer on a different ride. We got in another jeepney, one that would take me to school when Holly called, she said classes were suspended and dad was telling me to go get in a mall. We hurriedly got down from the jeepney which was about to go already. It was very windy and the weather wasn't looking good. Leaves flew pass me, others without missing my face. We got in the mall safe.


We strolled some more, and to my dismay, my classmates said classes were on. Good news: exam got moved to next week, bad news: we had an activity, no make up for that one. Boo! 

We strolled some more and I was able to buy a top from TopShop, 459php, Ewlin picked the color for me- pink. He wants me to wear the top on next Saturday's date. We also had Wild Rice. Elwin has been wanting to taste Wild Rice. We went around some more, I wanted to buy thick tights that could pass up as jeans, but I haven't found the right one yet. Elwin also tried on some gorgeous polo shirts, they didn't have his size though. I also bumped into Danica Sucalit in the dressing room. It was a bit awkward, she was carrying her baby and she kept saying to him "where's daddy? wehere's daddy?". I just heard from my dad that she now has a child (or so it's safe to assume).


Holly and dad picked us up at the Oh George pick up point. Holly had quite of a long day (afternoon), she wasn't in the best mood. x) But it was a bit funny. We gassed up and picked up mom, lola, and tita Inday from their novena thing and mass. Off to SM again for dinner at Chikaan. We saw Harrison Chiu there. It was nice to have dinner out with my family and boyfriend. :) We love the scallop at Chikaan.


After dinner, Elwin and I took a cab to McD I.T. Park to meet up with them Anne. When we got there, only Mara, Anne, and Fritz were there. Junel left to walk Princess to work. We went to La Marea for some dessert. Junel arrived after bringing Princess to work. We stayed a bit, had Brownie Cups and Sans Rival. After the chit chats we were homebound. Elwin stayed with Junel for a bit. Fritz drove Anne's car to main, to where his car was. He left with Mara and I drove Anne's car to my place.


It was a fun date with Elwin and a happy dinner with my family. It was nice seeing my friends for a bit. I am blessed, truly blessed. Thank you Lord.

Wild Rice

So today at our CS130: DataBase 1 class, our group reported. Thank you Lord I wasn't able to speak infront of the class. I know it's bad, being a member of the group, being the leader of the group, but I just couldn't do it. To even try and greet my classmates a good morning infront of the class was soooo hard already for me, how much more reporting. Thank you Isaac B. for saving our group. We're not close, but I'm thankful for what he did, reporting and preparing the whole presentation again.

I went to CDU with Theodore to have osme Wild Rice for lunch, also ordered take out for friends back in the Main Campus. Our order was a "special order" since they were already out of rice but Janet bought rice from another nearby stall for our orders. After eating, we helped her clean up by doing the dishes. We brought Janet home to change and dropped her off the Main Campus while Theodore and I went home to drop the car off. We took the jeepney to USC main. As we were walking to the Law Building, we bumped into Fritz and so he went with us. I brought the goodies and gave it to those I promised it to. They all shared with their friends and classmates. Too bad Mara missed out on the wild rice I brought though. :( 


Theodore later left with Puntual. Fritz and I were just there hanging by their green couch on the lobby place with Chang and Elvis popping out from time to time. I ranted to Fritz about my uncle J, haha! Sorry Fritz! We later decided to wait for Mara at the parking lot to go and check on Sky. Finally! I've been wanting to go to Sky. Sky was crying when we got to her. She was hungry, I went and bought Sky Flakes for her and met with Mara along the way.

We were in Fritz's car and off to Anney's! But Sky peed on Mara's lap, at the spot where a person looks like she peed in her pants. Boo. So I grabbed Sky from Fritz since he was driving. Mara still didn't resist Sky and got her back.

At Anney's we tried to hide Sky from her ama. It was a short stay. We went out as her father (Mr. George) arrived. We were on the rode when Fritz realized he left his glasses and so he made a quick U-turn. I went down to grab his glasses as they wait outside. Got it and we were off to my place. I got dropped off and they went home.

I thought I'd be out tonight. I was kinda looking forward for something to happen, but nothing did. Hmmm... maybe next time. I was home around 7pm, the good thing about that was I was sure my boyfriend would be happy I was home already. :)

Odd Day, Sad Ending

The day started out with us going to our downtown adventure. Anne and I took the cab to USC main to meet up with Mara, Chang, Fritz, Vanessa, and Chinchin. Mara's friends, most of them we just recently met. Anne was able to buy 3 bracelets, for birthday presents. I wasn't able to buy anything at all. I had in mind F.R.I.E.N.D.S. DVD but I wasn't able to find any.


After the short trip, we again rode a cab home for lunch. I thought there'd be six of us but there was only 4- Anne, Mara, Fritz, and me. We over prepared lunch I bet, oh well. We also watched Iron Man on HBO while waiting for lunch.

We were off to main in Anne's car, which I drove (I love driving for her of course). Fritz's hands has been itching to get his hands on the computer to play. We played Counter Strike. It was my second time playing the game, technically first since when I played with my cousin it was all blurred out and I think lasted for a split second. We played Left for Dead first, then Counter Strike. I did enjoy it, but other guys went in our "private server" with Fritz's 123 password. I really hated the trash talk, especially the ones by the two young boys. Boo!


Pass 2:30pm, Mara, Fritz, and Sarah were late for their German class. Anne and I went up to the Law Building's library and before we were able warm the seats, we left for USC-TC. Elwin text messaged me about attending my class, I wanted to skip it but he said I shouldn't. We don't really do anything significant, no attendance, and he sends out the ppt to us anyways. Before going to school we picked up Jon and went to buy dog food at Dog Palace.


4:30pm, I was at our room and class is about to begin. I didn't have Anne and Jon sit-in since I wanted to just go out by 6:15pm. We all planned to watch UP 3D at SM, 7:25pm show instead of the originally planned 9:05pm last full show since Mara needed to get home early. After answering the activity for IT32, I went out and we were rushing to SM.


I dropped off Anne and Jon at the entrance and I went to park the car. I met with them at KFC, we all ordered take out. We went to the movie house and got our tickets. Rice meals weren't allowed inside so we had to eat them just right out the movie house. That was definitely something new! After the meal I decided to order a hotdog meal or some sort at The Big City, we were late at seeing the movie because of that and because I had to leave and turn in my camera. Boo! I'm so sorry. Mikko went with us to have dinner outside the cinemas and see the movie with us too.

UP 3D was okay, nothing amazing. Mara slept through some parts of the movie and I closed my eyes in some parts as well. The ticket for that cost 250php, more than the usually ticket price.

After the movie we didn't know where to go. We are quite a bunch of indecisive people. We did "twenty one" to see who'd choose. Anne was 21 and chose Cabanas for karaoke, we've been wanting to hear Elvis sing. Mara said Fritz really isn't into those, but we wanted to change that. Plus, he doesn't have to sing, he can just listen. Cabana's was packed, no parking and a lot of waiting customers. Anne decided we'd go to their place. She text messaged her auntie Zenny, sudden change of plans. We were off to my place. Anne's ama was in a really bad mood. After everyone got in my room, Anne left hurriedly to avoid a more heavy scolding from her ama.

I ordered 2 boxes off pizza from Gustuso's and played the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. DVD for them to watch. Laugh here and there. Pizza just arrived and Fritz just got online with my laptop, he's mother suddenly called asking for him. He did say her tone of voice was calm, but it was unusual that his mother would look for him. Although I still think it would have been better if he mentioned to his mom earlier about where he was. Elvis, Mara, and Fritz left. Mara was also in danger of scolding. Jon finished the two slices of pizza left, I had Fritz bring home the unopened box Elvis was already able to eat a few slices before leaving. After the two slices and after some quality time with Miggy, he took a cab home.


I was alone now, feeling sorry, sad, and depressed. Boo! Just sad.

Jujitsu and Starbucks

No one really had plans for today. I met with Mara and her friend Sarah at Cheaverz. I had to eat even if I didn't have the appetite for it, I knew I was hungry. We sat there a bit waiting for Fritz to arrive. I was supposedly going to work with my DB group mates but they weren't replying. After getting the attendance slip Mara needed from Fritz, we went inside the school to have it signed by a teacher. P.E. festival was over by 9am, we arrived at around 10:30am. Bummer. 

After having their attendance slips signed, Mara and I waited for Elvis a bit, only to realize he wasn't coming anytime soon. Mara and I went to Rosedale where we last left Fritz. We had popsicles and just hung out there for to talk and just stare blankly into space (lol). Fritz was with  his friends, off to their Dota adventures. 

Mara and I finally decided to go off to Ayala. When we got there, we just walked around there going in and out of stores until our feet ached. We went to Foodchoices for some Thirsty's fruit salad and not long after that Elwin arrived. We headed home to drop off the car so that I wouldn't worry about bringing Holly home and all. 

When we arrived at my place, Anne decided to just meet us here. It wasn't a long wait and Anne was here. We hung out in my room and watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S. (again). Elwin was able to nap for just a tiny bit and he tried to keep himself up to watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S. We then decided to just have dinner here. We called up Fritz and Elvis to come over for dinner. We waited for quite sometime before they arrived. When they arrived, Anne had already eaten since she had to leave for a 7pm appointment with Norman Go for his Jujitsu sessions at the Loft, 4th floor gym, which Anne will need to shoot soon. She needed to check them out for a pre-shoot slash observing thinger or something so she can come up with a concept.  

So we had dinner when them Fritz and Elvis arrived. I was happy to see them eat a lot, especially Elwin and Fritz. Fritz was hesitant at first but after offering, he'd take the food and eat it. I'm sure yaya Violy loves looking at my friends enjoy her cooking, although we had barbecues bought as well. 

Fritz was tired and asked if I knew how to drive manual, I forwarded the question to Mara and Mara told him that I very well knew how to drive manual since my car (dad's car) which I drive to school is very much manual, "pawis steering" as they joke about it. Surprisingly Fritz handed over his keys to me, I was going to drive his sister's Honda Civic- WOW! I was honestly conscious with my driving since it wasn't my car but it was very very nice driving it. :) 

So we were at I.T. Park, Loft, and I'm glad we made it there safely. I kept asking them if my driving was okay, since I was conscious about it and all, and they said my driving was fine. Fritz even said I drove better then him but I don't know how true that is since I haven't experienced his driving yet. 

4th floor gym- Jujitsu session was going on. As most of us didn't expect, Jujitsu was quite an aggressive sport that involved a lot of grappling. Norman was the head/ master, as Anne informed me. He invited us (or the guys we were with at least) to a trial session. Only Fritz gave it a go. It was funny to see him being squished and trying to get out of the awkward positions he'd get locked into. But I did admire his guts to try it out, maybe partly to impress someone or just because he was curious. Come to think about it, Mara did mention earlier that Fritz was a guy who'd try anything at least once. 1,000php per month and that will get you everyday session of Jujitsu, if I'm not mistaken; but I think Sundays are not included. If I'm not mistaken. Fritz was interested of joining in, he even asked Elvis and Elwin if they'd want to join as well.

After Jujitsu, it took us a while to decided where to go off to next, we did Twenty-One and it was Elvis' pick. He picked Kopi Roti but maybe because Anne's family was there and it wouldn't be that comfortable, we decided Starbucks, Paseo Arcenas at Banawa.

I drove Fritz's Honda Civic once more and my passengers were Elwin and Elvis. Fritz drove Anne's Yaris and Anne had front seat and Mara was at the back seat. It was honestly weird to be driving Fritz's car once more, and this time without him- the owner (or brother of the owner). This was only our 3rd time to meet by the way, maybe trust came easily? 

On the way there I had to make a quick stop at McDonald's Escario to use the restroom. Elwin bought regular fries in exchange for us making use of their restrooms. Elvis just waited in the car. 

Paseo Arcenas. As we got down I saw Fritz, Mara, and Anne approaching. I ran to Fritz and told him that we took a while cause I bumped into a motorcycle. And as quickly as I gave away that joke, I took it right back. I saw how worried he really looked and it seemed like he was dizzy and about to faint or something. I apologize for the bad joke, but it was hard to resist. 

Starbucks. We hung out there, talked, and had frappuccinos. We also took some photos. Carole also came, Mara went out to meet her. I knew Carole doesn't really like me, I don't know why but I wouldn't really care. She went there to convince Mara to go with them to Bantayan. But gladly Mara chose stayed with us, all the more reason for Carole to dislike me, but it's cool. We called it a night at around 10:30pm, almost 11pm I guess. Fritz, Mara, and Elvis went together. Elwin rode a taxi, I was worried since his mom asked him to head home at around 8pm but he still stayed. I rode with Anne and she brought me home. Thanks again Anne! :)

Thank you for this fun night. I'm glad to have met Mara's friends especially Chang, Elvis, and Fritz. They're fun to be with. But as to when I'll see them and Mara again, that'll be a question. :( Especially since Intrams is over. Hopefully soon, very soon.

PS: Today was when Nardo met his 3-month girlfriend from Leyte for the first time. He shared it wasn't awkward at all and they held hands and hugged. I'm happy for him. :)
