School Hopping Adventure

So it's a lazy Saturday and I told Elwin to rest instead of coming over. I really did want to see him, but a rest is but proper after running errands for his brother, riding jeepneys on a hot Saturday. There were a couple of things I had in mind to make this day productive:
  • Try painting again - but it was cumbersome to look for my materials
  • Come up with gift ideas - but I have no "budget" to even try and consider what to get
  • Study JAVA online - my excuse is a text book is always better
  • Go biking - I have no one to go with, my sister's going out with friends

And so you see how I have all the excuses in the world.

I thought of blogging again, since I did owe my "school hopping adventure" an entry.

After 3 years and a half of being a Carolinian, I bow down and stop trying. I know I didn't give it my best, but maybe it's just not working for me. Miss P's method is just not getting through me, well for one I'm completely againts it- which contributes to my being stubborn I guess. She gives us a serise of lessons followed by a serise of exams on lessons which are from 2 weeks to a month old. And our minds' already focused on the current lesson. My friend mentioned Ms. P. just wanted us to be flexible. I go- flexible my a*s. Even sir L. was appalled by her method of teaching and he said that shouldn't be. Even the faculty is a mess and some teachers against Miss P. I bet a lot are just waiting for her to get scrapped, although I don't see the happening anytime soon. She is so proud of the "standard" she has placed, such a one-sided thing. If you look on the other side, she should question her teaching methods. Because of her students shift, transfer school, get disqualified from proceeding, go through 5 takes on her subjecgt, or worst- stop schooling. Seriously, doesn't she stop and question her ways?

My failure was sad, it did hurt, but I'm honestly not at all bitter as people would expect. I accept the fact that my failure was my fault as well. And I am sorry to my parents. I am however blessed that they totally understand. Turns out, USC-TC was known for terror teachers and the like, apparently, my dad went through the same thing. Unlike my dad, I transferred and made a move just a little too late.

So school hunting began. My mom was still up for convinicng me to stay at USC, her alma matter. She wanted me so bad to finish there, but my dad couldn't care less. To him, a school is a school, and it's up to the student what to make of himself or herself. True that dad!

I checked out TESDA, considering going to USC and enrolling at TESDA as well. That didn't work out. After a very upsetting day, holding up tears- Elwin went with me, I took the USP entrance exam on the spot. I remembered eating at AA's with him, he wanted to make me feel better. But I only felt undeserving.

Dad was rooting for USP since I'd finish their earlier. My mom and I wanted USJR-Basak. I was taken aback by their impressive and not to mention intimidating IT prospectus. Their IT students got certificates at second year and at 3rd year, each IT student would have a specialization, a field they'd focus on.

After a few debates and arguements I chose to stay out of as much as I could- it was USJR for me.

Just a few weeks ago I reconnected with an old pal from 5th grade- Eduard Sy, and coincidentaly, he went to USJR. So after 8 years, we met again and he was really nice and he helped me through enrollment and all. It was a tiring process but I finally got in. I had my hair dyed to black to conform with school poloicies and I was determined to make this work. I really loved the campus, the library, and the students all seemed pretty serious. I honestly felt it would be hard to fit in, but I was in it for the studies right? But there was a glitch on the whole thing- there was no designated parking area for students with service. And dad wasn't very happy about that fact and still wanted me to transfer. I've had second thoughts of the school, maybe because I was awfully lonely and the environment was all too different. My friends also wondered why I didn't go to UC considering my boyfriend went there. But UC wasn't an option in the first place, I remembered that Elwin didn't want me to go there for certain reasons, and I know it is only what is good for me that he has in mind.

I've never fallen in such a deep abyss of confusion, and I'm not even exagerating. This decision was something that would have great impact on my future. I decided to stay at USJR, but dad fought back and won my mom over through safety issue. No parking meant I'd park outside school, at Barangay Quiot. It was known as the "killing fields" back in their day. And the way to USJR involved harassed drivers and accident waiting to happen. So it was decided, I was off to UC after 1 week of being a Josenian.

UC- I enrolled, fixed my sched and got in. They were going to have me sign a waiver, but after seeing my IQ result which reflected superior, they decided it wasn't necessary. At UC my IQ was superior - 133 I think, and at USJR it was above average - 119 I think. Odd. And I took the same exam, and they don't even show the results so I basically answered in the same condition. So anyways, in less than 2 days I was a UC student. My USJR printed scheds and my mind set to adapt the USJR environment were now futile efforts. I took a sudden drift.

  • USC: 06300855
  • USJR: 200904397-6
  • UC: 091250**

From a Josenian with a 3rd year college standing, I am now a UC-ian with a humble 1st year standing. I don't have any hard core programming subject for this sem, only web-based programming. I am anticipating Java. I have to learn it myself since my Java 1 got creditted somehow so I go straight to Java 2. I'm looking to graduate in 2012 maybe? Plus there's the big possibility of me putting off a sem or two to fly off to America. Right now I'm not giving too much thought about it since it only gets me drepressed and discouraged.

Most of my batchmates will be throwing their hats off this March to mark the end of their college years. Congratulations to you all! It saddens me I am not able to join them, but I'm proud of those who were able to push through the hardships. I'm especially proud of my friend Theodore T. who conqured IT26 and showed how hard work can really pay off. God bless everyone.

Each failure is another opportunity to rise higher.

Narnia

Narnia Book 2 is on Star Movies right now. c: Hoorah!

It's fiesta over here, but we never really make it grand or celebrate it for that matter. Today at lunch was the closest we had to celebrating fiesta, as I can remember. Dad bought lechon baboy and manok for lunch. :D yum! Gotta love being Filipino for that ;D being Cebuano! Mum and dad also gave the carpenters something to celebrate with, also our helpers, and of course our doggies. c: Mum says it's like a thanksgiving thing as well. It was a good lunch, we did feel blessed.

Right now I'm in bed, enjoying the show. I'll be hoping to see Elwin today, but no pressure on him of course. He wants to buy a fan cooler and he can't wait, which reminds me- I need to get my hands on a Java book.

Well, if this post does show up, it'll be the first entry through my mobile. God bless us all! c:

Sick.

I've been sick since Monday or Tuesday night I think. I felt this lump in my throat and when I woke up in the morning it was awfully dry and it did hurt to swallow. I had a cold sore in my mouth also from Saturday I think. I was removing my retainers that Friday night and it got hooked on my lower lip and wounded it somehow, it bled and the next morning I woke up- viola! There it was, the cold sore staring me right back at the mirror. It got bigger by the way, until Wednesday when my throat got all weird. Happy to report the cold sore is gone now.

[okay so while I was typing I was all "sh*t", I normally don't cuss but I panicked! My right foot cramped. And I just hate that! Even though it doesn't last that long, it scares the crap out of me! I mean the nerves get all weird and it feels like it's all tied up and it's just AAHHHH!]

So, for catching up's sake, I'll go by what happened for the past few days since I'm feeling better somehow. I've been trying to use my "sickness" as an excuse to put off blogging but I'm still facing the laptop watching shows and streaming movies. :p

December 4 - Friday
So I've had this TGIF coupon worth 1000php right? A birthday gift from my good friends. They wanted Elwin and I to have a fancy dinner date. So that Friday we used it. I had dinner with my family and my boyfriend. My parents paid the excess amount of course.

Dinner wasn't as amazing as you'd think and expect it would be. You'd think since they charge triple the price from other fine dining restaurants like Mooon Cafe or Casa Verde- you'd be in for something amazing, but I quote my mom- "It's nothing special". It did however, pretty much reminded us of American food, but that was no shocker. But we all didn't regret trying out the place. We spent over 2500php there, just 5 of us. I don't think I'm going back there.

There was this saying on the frame which had a photo of a dead artist on it and I liked what it said, it might have been from one of his songs- "So long the journey there, so short the stay." It totally reminded me of the "bugsay" (rowing) sessions we had at Agta, Leyte. 2 hours rowing over there and we stayed for about 10 minutes to 15, and another 2 hours to row back. No photos, no proof that it did happen- just our funny memories.

December 6 - Sunday
Mom went Christmas shopping at SM and my sister and I almost went coo coo from hanging around. But eventually we got to do a little shopping of our own. All I got was a jacket and a little purse or pouch thing though, I didn't really feel like digging into the items.

After having Elwin wait for a little over an hour, we got to Ayala and finally met. I was able to give him his SAD book and we had snacks together at Taco's. After that Holly called us up and told me that we should catch up with them at Metro Cafe to eat. And so we ate yet again! :) That was dinner- some fancy spag for Elwin and some fancy-named ribs for me. But of course I wasn't able to finish it up so Elwin had to save me from that.

December 7 - Monday
We met Kyle's girlfriend- Marga. Elwin and I ran late since Elwin still had classes up to 8:30pm and we were to meet at 7pm. When we got there, they were done eating.

It was their first month mark as a couple and we finally got to see who she was. She reminded me of Kristyl B. on her appearance, and the way she talks reminded me of Emmie T. Princess agrees with both of the observations I've made and Kyle only agreed on the latter.

Dinner at Matia's. The usual awesome place. Sad news is they've increased their prices by a peso- but still, it does matter especially for students like us. (Except Princess and Junel- no longer students. *wink*) Kyle says we'd have to find a new cheaper place to dine at soon. But I still love their barbecues.

Attendance:
* Kyle T. *
* Marga *
* Emmie T. *
* Stanley L. *
* Princess A. *
* Junel C. *
* Elwin "macho man" M. *
* Allie *

We also discussed Christmas party plans. After Matia's, Emmie and Stan went home and we went to IT park since I was craving for ice cream. I had me some Oreo McFlurry (which I mistakenly keep calling SwirlyBitz. WTH?!) Dropped them off and Elwin accompanied me home. I was home around 11 on a school night and dad wasn't happy. But hey, my Tuesday class doesn't start 'til 12noon.

December 8 - Tuesday
A day I don't really want to talk about. first time I ever missed class for this semester. My auntie Anne had her baby and it's another boy! :) And half-jokingly I told my mom to ask the baby from her since she already had two boys and a girl- and as always my mom answered "Unsa na?! Baktin?" (What do you think of the baby? A piglet?) Haha. It would be nice to have a brother, or another sibling for that matter. :)

December 9 - Wednesday
I was craving for freshly fried fish for lunch, but that didn't happen. Later I craved for Shakey's- but it just wasn't in our budget. I think my period is coming anytime soon since I'm craving for food. :)

So it seems as though we wouldn't have our English class, Elwin and I left and went to Country Mall (the mall across the new school) to check out some fans my sister wanted me to buy for her, but I didn't find any good one. I also bought Shawarma for snacks and munched on it at the Food Court.

After that mom text messaged me to meet them at Ayala. It was drizzling a little bit and so Elwin went with me  since he had a two hour break. we got to Ayala and ended up having dinner at Shakey's. Hooray! Elwin got to eat before he left for school. It's always nice to have my boyfriend join me and my family for a meal.

December 10 - Thursday
Math quiz I wasn't prepared for, but hopefully I make the 70% passing mark.

Went with Harrison C., Jokas R., Daren O., and Elwin to have Jerseys done. I ordered one for myself as well. Elwin and I both chose number 16 for obvious reasons. :) The joy-ride back to school in Daren's car was fun too.

December 11- Friday
I was too lazy to even try and get up to shower. I couldn't imagine driving to school. A good day I chose to be absent since there weren't any classes due to Teacher's day celebration. I missed our research group meeting though, but my group mates understood. I e-mailed them my contribution and I hope it was of use.

Stayed home all day- no shower! Had my massage sessions and now I'm blogging. the bad thing about today- aside from me being lazy, I didn't get to see Elwin. Poo. hopefully tomorrow, love. :) I miss you already.

To whoever is reading: I'm sorry this is a long post. No one forced you to read it, but if you did- thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is much appreciated. Especially if your name is Elwin. :)

not-so-sick after all,

MEEBO

So I spent the whole day moving all my blog posts from different blog hosting sites to here. I was ranting on to my classmate Clyde Paronda, about how I have all these blog entries from all over- but I want to keep this one for a lifetime. He was the one who gave me the idea to move all my blog posts here. I've done that with my old multiply account to the new one, and now I've done it here as well. So don't be surprised why from less than 20 blog posts, I now have 91. x) And still counting since I haven't imported my Tumlbr blogs yet (I'm having second thoughts about it).

So I basically spent the day sleeping and eating- pigging out if you will. Supposedly, Elwin and I had plans on biking, but he had to attend to puppy buyers and my mom was considering going to church tonight instead of tomorrow (which didn't happen).

But I was productive though on the whole "transferring of blog posts". (Trying to convince myself :p haha)

Also, today I had the YM thing in my phone through wiFi hooked up and got it running thanks to Tech Kid's blog.

What made my day you ask?

Used meebo since my YM was being sucky and didn't let me log-in. Webmessenger now has a new name which is irrelevant since I can't find a way to YM with it either. So HOORAY for meebo!

Well, I'll be chatting on with my boyfriend now. ;)

Don't you wish he was your boyfriend? haha! I know a lot girls in our school wish that- but sorry for you all, he's taken. :)

December 1!

Okay, so lately I've been drowning myself in music. I don't know, music and I somehow reconnected. This is probably because of my "loner moves" time. You see, I transferred school. Yes- I've been very behind with blogging because of that and because I've been too "busy" to even try. (And yes, also because I am lazy- poo!)

I'll catch up with my transferring of school adventures- yes, "adventures". There's quite a lot to tell.

December 1- and I still haven't saved for Christmas shopping. :( I hope I'll be able to cook up something for my loved ones and closest friends.

Today is my former humanities teacher's birthday- Sam Nervez, and my friend Crisanto's birthday as well. Happy birthday to you both! I hope you had a good one. I greeted them through Facebook- it's the most accessible. Also, I've been looking forward to today for weeks now because my friend Eduard Sy said he'll stop smoking. He said he wanted to do this for himself, and I think it's really wise of him to be doing so. I'm proud of him already. I pray God will give him strength to keep his commitment to stop smoking.

I've also been trying to be a good student. I've been doing assignments way ahead of time, I study, go to the library, and all that. Failure just bites and I've had enough of the from San Carlos. I just pray I'll be able to keep these "good student habits".

I'm sorry if this entry sucks. I've been trying to blog again, but I keep putting it off because it's hard for me to start off again after leaving it for so long. But as promised, I'll be sticking with this blog. I know that in the future I'll be really happy having this- reading back my past experiences, mishaps, dramas, lol moments, and the like. So until here, I hope I get back into the "blogging spirit" soon.

Happy holidays people! I hope we all have good one.

been away for too long, I almost forgot to sign this post. Mahaha.

I'm back,
